May 19, 2010

Members present: Maxine Divine, Mary Benson, John Francisco, and Martha Carter. Absent: Carol Scidmore, Harlan Hawkins, and Chris Ferguson. Also present: Barb Coward.

Meeting called to order by Maxine Divine at 7:08 p.m.

April 21, 2010 minutes not available.

April 2010 treasurer's report reviewed. Martha Carter made a motion to approve the expenditures of $17,726.21 for April. John Francisco seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Mary Benson-aye, John Francisco-aye, Martha Carter-aye, and Maxine Divine-aye. Motion carried.

The librarian's report for April was presented. Discussion was held.

OLD BUSINESS:

Library Planning/Dr. Fred Schlipf, etc. - Nothing.

Hearing of Citizens - None.

Policies/Per Capita requirements - Tabled.

Friends of Cortland Library - Not meeting.

Book Club - The club met at the library. Doing o.k.

Sign - Need to slow down the speed of messages.

Fiber Optic Grant/DATA - The cost will double. May be here by December.

Budget Issues/Revisions - Martha Carter made a motion to accept budget revisions and pass revised Budget 2010-2011. Mary Benson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Mary Benson-aye, John Francisco-aye, Martha Carter-aye, and Maxine Divine-aye. Motion carried.

Intergovernmental Agreement with the Town of Cortland (sign) - Tabled.

FOI Act - Tabled.

Website & Facebook Fan Page - 5,000+ hits per year.

NEW BUSINESS:

FY 2010-2011 issues & goals - Lack money and time.

New services - Laura Mesjak may do some new things.

Grants (?) - Tabled.

Maintenance/carpet & paint, etc. - Memorial days are workdays. May be closed Tuesday, June 1, 2010 if work not done.

John Francisco made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mary Benson seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
